Apple Unveils ‘One More Thing’ Event

“One More Thing” is a phrase that Apple doesn’t use lightly, rather one kept for significant announcements. And one which was used by Apple’s previous CEO – Steve Jobs.

The last time Apple used the phrase was for the iPhone X – significant for its all-screen design and no home button, paving the way for the iPhones we see today. But it has also been used for the unveiling of the first Apple Watch, iPhone, and more.

Therefore, when I opened my email this morning to an Apple Event with the phrase “One More Thing” I knew it was a big deal. On November 11th (10th in the US) Apple will hold another virtual event. As they have done several times throughout the year, including as recently as September and October. This one is expected to be all about the Mac.

“One More Thing”

Apple is about to change its Mac Computers in a big way. By having them run on Apple Silicon chips (replacing Intel Processors). A plan that was first revealed by now Apple CEO, Tim Cook back in June during WWDC. Apple was able to show how it will be able to bring significant performance with lower power consumption. Along with a tighter integration between Apple’s softeare and hardware – as they have done with iPhone, iPad, and more.

During that same event, Tim Cook said that the first Mac with an Apple Silicone chip would ship in 2020. With only 2 months of the year left to go there is no doubt next week is the event for the unveiling of those Mac(s).

Event Time

While the event will occur in the US on November 10th, it will start in the early hours of November 11th around Australia. In Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne the event will begin at 5 am AEDT. While in Perth it will begin at 1 am AWST. Event times for Australian cities are as follows:

  • Sydney (New South Wales): 5 am AEDT
  • Brisbane (Queensland): 4 am (AEST)
  • Melbourne (Victoria): 5 am (AEDT)
  • Adelaide (South Australia): 4:30 am (ACDT)
  • Perth (Western Australia): 2 am (AWST)

Where to watch

There will be several locations in which the event will be streamed live online. Including Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, YouTube, and more. Additionally, it will be possible to download and watch the event after it occurs.
