Apple Updates iPhone Range With iPhone X and iPhone 8

As expected, Apple has officially announced a number of new iPhone models including the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus with a range of new designs and features.

Apple also confirmed localised pricing and availability on all models with the new range starting from A$1,079 in Australia.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models come with an updated design with all glass and aluminium and include a number of new features including a Retina HD displays with True Tone, 12-megapixel cameras, A11 Bionic chip, wireless charging, and more.

Pricing and Availability

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus range is priced in Australia from A$1,079 including GST for an iPhone 8 with 64GB storage. The iPhone 8 Plus starts at A$1,229 with 64GB storage. All iPhone 8 and 8 Plus pricing can be viewed here.

These new models will be released in Australia on September 22nd, 2017 and available for pre-order from Friday 15th September – from Apple online.

iPhone X

The iPhone X (pronounced “iPhone Ten”) is in the words from Apple “The future of the smartphone”. It includes a 5.8-inch super Retina display which follows the curves of the device, which is all-glass and stainless steel in design. The entire front of the iPhone X is a display with the iconic home button – no more.

It is packed with incredible new technologies, like the innovative TrueDepth camera system, beautiful Super Retina display and super fast A11 Bionic Chip with neural engine,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone X enables fluid new user experiences — from unlocking your iPhone with Face ID, to playing immersive AR games, to sharing Animoji in Messages — it is the beginning of the next ten years for iPhone.”

iPhone X includes new technologies never seen in an iPhone before including FaceID, a secure new way for you to unlock, authenticate and pay using your Face. A new 12-megapixel dual camera system with Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, and 4K video, plus a 7-megapixel TrueDepth front camera.
