Earlier in the year, I wrote about a new delivery option being offered by Apple around Australia – same-day delivery. There has since been some further progress made by Apple, and a temporary offer ending on December 8th 17th, 2020. Update: Apple has extended the offer until December 17th.
Firstly, the number of eligible areas has been expanded to include ‘most metro areas’. If you live in the same or surrounding suburb from an Apple Retail Store chances are the three-hour delivery will be an option.
Secondly, while Apple offers free delivery on its online store, same-day delivery usually costs an additional A$15. But for a limited time (until December 8th, 2020), it has been reduced to just A$5. The service will continue beyond the date, but Apple is already advising to shop early this Christmas.
Scheduled Courier Delivery
Apple’s same-day ‘courier delivery’ is an optional service that will have your order delivered to you within just three hours. All at a selected time of your choice during checkout. With updates along the way, including driver tracking, COVID-safe contactless delivery, and more.
Products are collected and sent from an Apple Retail Store, therefore, the product needs to be in stock. However, Apple’s online store will only show the option if the item is indeed available.
How to select courier delivery
Thankfully Apple has made the process of choosing same-day delivery along with a time a simple process. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to buy from Apple’s online store and choose three-hour delivery.

- Browse Apple’s Online
Apple’s official online store is the only online store where you can buy ALL Apple products. Including the latest Macs, iPads, iPhones, AirPods, HomePods, and plenty more.
- Choose a product
Navigate the store and select a product to purchase. Products may be available in several configurations, colours, and more.
- Review delivery options
Under ‘Add to Bag’, tap ‘Delivery options’ for your postcode to review delivery options for the product you’re ordering.
- Begin checkout process
Tap on the Bag icon at the top of the website and begin the checkout process. Be sure to select ‘I’d like to delivered’ for available delivery methods – including ‘Scheduled Courier Delivery’. Same-day delivery can only occur if the product is in stock and the order is completed prior to 2pm.
- Choose a time
Select ‘Scheduled Courier Delivery’ and then choose a time.
- Continue checkout process
Tap ‘Continue to Shipping Address’ to proceed with the checkout process.
