iMacs Updated With A Dramatic Increase In Performance

New processors and graphics

Overnight Apple has given the iMac range an update, just a day after releasing the new iPad Mini and all-new iPad Air. It’s the first iMac update in more than 650 days, with new processors and graphics that give the new iMacs a 2x boost in performance. All while keeping the same iconic sleek all-in-one aluminium design.

Available in Australia at a starting price of A$1,999, the all-new iMac range is now available for order at Apple’s online store.

Todays updated iMac lineup is all to do with the technology inside. With the appearance and all-in-one design remaining unchanged. As too the two display sizes, 21.5-inch (4K) and 27-inch (5K). Both the processor and graphics chip inside all new models has been updated.

New processors

9th-generation Intel Processors are now included in all iMac models. Resulting in faster performance during every computing task. From editing photos to composing music and coding.

  • 21.5-inch iMac: now features 8th-generation quad-core, and for the first time 6-core processors, delivering up to 60% faster performance.
  • 27-inch iMac: now for the first time features up to 9th-generation 6-core and 8-core processors, delivering up to 2.4 times faster performance.

New Graphics

Secondly, graphics has been significantly boosted. The 21.5-inch iMac now comes with a new graphics chip called the Radeon Pro Vega. Delivering an insane 80% faster graphics performance over the previous model. While the 27-inch iMac delivers 50% faster graphics.

The benefits will be seen in video editing, graphic design, 3D animation, gaming and more.
