iMac Pro Now Configurable With 256GB of RAM

For just A$8,320

iMac Pro 2017 Video Editing

Today Apple has quietly added two new configuration options to the iMac Pro, the high-end all-in-one desktop Mac built specifically for Pros. This is in addition to the updates made to the consumer-focused iMac line-up.

The first new configuration option is a new Memory RAM size. While the iMac Pro comes with 32GB of RAM standard, you could increase it to 64GB and 128GB. But starting today, this increases to a new insane 256GB option. The other is graphics, with the ability to now select a Radeon Pro Vega 64X with 16GB of HBM2 memory to your iMac Pro.

Adding more memory will allow for more apps to run simultaneougly. And going for better graphics will make a big difference during real-time 3D rendering, video editing, animation, and so on.

Pricing

Both of these new options don’t come cheap, but the iMac Pro is not a consumer-focused product. The new 256GB of Memory RAM is priced at A$8,320, while the Radeon Pro Vega 64X will set you back A$1,120. These prices are in addition to the cost of the iMac Pro itself, which in Australia starts at an RRP of A$7,299. This means an iMac Pro configured with the best hardware possible will cost A$24,419.

You can customise and purchase your own iMac Pro exclusively at Apple’s online store. All orders come with free fast shipping and 14-day free returns.
