Apple Announces October Special Event

Apple has sent invitations to media around the world revealing their next Special Event will take place this October. It is likely their last event for the year but confirms they have more to announce. In what is expected to be new iPad Pro models, and more.

The invites sent out to the press do not reveal a whole lot of information. However as always, there is a tagline, “there’s more in the making” along with the Apple logo. Although the logo has been given a creative makeover and there is a variety of them too. Hinting there could be a lot of announcements related to creativity and the Apple Pencil for iPad.

What will be announced?

According to several reports Apple is set to announce a new range of iPad Pro models featuring FaceID. A feature which was first announced on the iPhone X. And now the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. There is word new MacBook models may also see the light of day. Along with a new Apple Pencil for the new iPad range. However, nothing is official as of yet.

Announcements that are certainly possible is iOS 12.1. An update to the newest release of iOS which is currently being tested around the world. Bringing new emoji, FaceTime to up to 32 people at once, and more. There is also AirPower, Apple’s own wireless charging mat for iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. A product which was actually previewed last year – for release in 2018.

Event Date and Times

The event takes place in Brooklyn, U.S. on October 30 at 10 a.m. EDT. In Australia, the event will actually occur on Wednesday, October 31st in most states due to timezone differences. In Sydney, the keynote will begin at 1 am. But in Perth, it will take place on the 30th at 10 pm AWST.

  • Melbourne, Victoria – 3 am AEST
  • Adelaide, South Australia – 2:30 am ACST
  • Perth, Western Australia – 1 am (AWST)

Apple has confirmed they will be live streaming the event, as they have done over the past number of years. They most recently did it for the September Special Event. Watching the event is possible by simply heading to Apple.com or from the Apple Events app on Apple TV.
