The new DJI OSMO Mobile 2 Gimbal, a hand-held stabiliser for iPhone, can now be purchased exclusively from Apple.
The product has a number of new features and enhancements over the previous version. I thought I would summarise them, plus provide information on pricing, availability, and where you can buy one.
Features
The gimbal will enable you to shoot much smoother and professional looking video from iPhone. It does this by stabilising your iPhone even as you walk and move about. This makes it perfect for those capturing cinematic video, long exposures without a tripod, or just wanting to experiment with video.
DJI, a company who is best known for professional drones has included some impressive capabilities into the gimbal. Automatic subject tracking, zoom control, panorama photos, and portrait support are some of these.

Just as impressive is battery life, with up to 15 hours of continuous use. It can also charge your iPhone on the go. Despite the longer battery life, it is also much lighter than the original.

Since the release of the DJI’s first gimbal, there has been a number of new iPhone releases. DJI has designed the OSMO Mobile 2 to work with more iPhone models than ever before.
The new iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are all compatible. In fact, all iPhone models between the iPhone X and iPhone 5s will work.
Pricing and Availability
The gimbal can only be purchased from Apple at a price of A$209.95 but does include free delivery or pick-up and 14-day free returns.
It is possible to order the gimbal now from Apple online with shipping expected to begin later in February.
