AppleCare+ can now be purchased for Apple TV, Apple has announced. And those who previously paid for AppleCare for 2 years will get an extra year free. The availability of AppleCare+ arrives alongside the new Apple TV 4K and Siri Remote, available from May 21st, 2021.
Purchasing a new Apple TV includes one year warranty and 90 days of technical support. Buying AppleCare+, however, extends the warranty to three (3) years. Support is expanded to 24/7 via ‘Apple Experts’ via chat or phone. But it also includes accidental damage protection.

As the name suggests, accidental damage allows repair of up to two incidents of accidental damage. Subject to a service fee of A$19 with a limit of two incidents every 12 months. Often the service fee of A$19 is much cheaper than without AppleCare+.
