New HomeKit Secure Video-enabled cameras Available at Apple

Logic Circle View Home Secure Video Camera

Apple has updated its online store, adding two new cameras in its range of accessories – Logic Circle View and Eve Cam. Each has its design and unique features. However, both are Apple HomeKit enabled and offer HomeKit Secure Video, a new feature introduced in iOS 13.

The Logitech Circle View Security Camera features ‘best-in-class’ video quality and 180° field-of-view. An infrared sensor built-in allows night vision at up to 4.5 meters away. While its body is waterproof, allowing the camera to be set up indoors and out.

On the other hand, the Eve Cam is an indoor camera which allows you to keep a close eye on your home. It can even tell the difference between a person or a pet, or more.

HomeKit Secure Video

Both cameras feature Apple’s new HomeKit Secure Video feature. Enabling end-to-end encryption with in-home video analysis that runs on your home hub device.

Up to 10 days of footage recorded is stored on your iCloud account with end-to-end encryption. But doesn’t count towards the data limit of your iCloud account. However, will if you want to save the video beyond the 10 days.

Additionally, the feature enables activity notifications and sharing. For example, if the cameras detect motion while you’re not at home, you will be notified on your iPhone. From there you can look to see who is around.
