Film studios have had to rethink how they bring their latest films to consumers. Due to many cinemas around the world closing due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Apple TV app, which allows you to rent or buy Movies and more now has several early release movies. Bringing movies “from the big screen to your screen”.
At the time of writing, seven movies are currently available including Go!, Just Mercy, Midway and Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears. Plus Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), The Invisible Man, and the anticipated release ‘Emma.‘.
Movies are available from the Apple TV app and the iTunes Store. The Apple TV app is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and Apple TV. And also selected smart TVs, AirPlay-enabled TVs, and more. It is where you can rent or buy Movies and TV Shows, and access content from a range of content streaming services.

How much early release movies cost in Australia seems to vary, and some can be rented, while others are available to own. ‘Emma.‘, one of the most recent films can be rented to watch in 4K HDR for A$29.99. While others, such as Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) can be purchased to own at A$24.99. Then at a later date, available for rent.
Over the next several months we should expect to see other films arrive early digitally. Today Disney announced Pixar’s newest film ‘Onward‘ too will arrive in Australia early as a digital release. And then later available for streaming on Disney+.
