Apple has announced their PRODUCT(RED) partnership has helped contribute over US$200 million to the program. While also revealing a new limited-time donation scheme with all new purchases made with Apple Pay.
PRODUCT(RED)
(RED)-certified products are ones in which a small portion of the money made goes towards funding a program to treat HIV/AIDS. This includes going towards counselling, testing, and medication to prevent mothers from passing HIV to their babies.
Apple has taken part in this program for the past 12 years by creating a number of Apple PRODUCT(RED) products. Over the years they have contributed to over US$200 million for (RED). Some of the newest (PRODUCT)RED products include:
- New iPhone XR
- iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS Leather Case
- Apple Watch Sport Loop
- Apple Watch Modern Buckle
- Plus, Apple Watch Sport Band
All of which are available from Apple’s online store. When purchasing, Apple will donate a portion of funds for each purchase.
Donation with Apple Pay
In addition, Apple has announced a new limited-time donation they will make. From December 1st – 7th, they will donate US$1 to (RED)’s fight to end AIDS with every purchase made with Apple Pay. From an Apple Store, on the Apple website, or through the Apple Store app.
