This guide is aimed at highlighting what the TV app is all about, the content available on the in Australia, and how to start using the app.
What Is The TV App?
The TV app is essentially one place for streaming/watching TV shows and movies from a number of content providers available in Australia. The movies and TV shows that are in the TV app can be watched anytime, not at a set time like traditional TV.
Continue to watch your favourite shows and movies, discover new content, and find new video apps. With the TV app, you can do it all from a single location. – Apple
The app includes a number of features including Watch Now, recommendations, a store, search and more. In addition, as you begin to watch a show or movie, you can continue it on another device from where you were with the app staying in sync – all automatically.
At launch, the TV app sources content from the following Australian content providers:
9Now (Channel 9)
PLUS 7 (channel 7)
SBS on demand
iTunes Store (Movies and TV Shows)
At the time of writing the app includes the new season of The Bachelorette, The Handmaid’s Tale, Get Krack!n, Australian Survivor, and lots more.
Unfortunately, there are a few providers missing and yet to be added to the TV app including Stan, Foxtel, and Netflix.
