Competition between telcos in Australia is heating up with Optus unveiling a Double Data Explosion deal until March 25th, 2018. The deal gives you up to 100GB of data for just A$60/month.
Double Data Deal
The promotion, which applies to their ‘Lease a phone with a plan’ and SIM Only plans, sees double data being offered. This includes leased iPhone models, such as the new iPhone X, or their 12-month SIM Only plans, which can be used with all iPhones.
Sim Only
SIM Only plans allow you to ‘bring your phone’, for example, if you purchase an iPhone outright from Apple, you can use these plans.
Optus is offering three 12-month SIM Only plans all of which come with double data for 24-months. You can get 30GB for A$40/month, 60GB for A$50/month, and an insane 100GB for just A$60/month.
- 30GB data = A$40/month
- 60GB data = A$50/month
- 100GB data = A$60/month
Lease phone on a plan
Optus is also offering double data on selected plans where you also lease a phone over the span of the contract. This will give you up to 200GB of data per month.
Data-Free Streaming
In addition to large amounts of data, all plans include data-free streaming of Spotify, Netflix, Stan, Optus Sport, National Geographic, and more. These are, however, speed limited. For example, Netflix will run at a max 1.5 Mbps, which is not enough for Full HD, but certainly enough to play the video at decent quality on the go.
Optus states these are an online offer only from their website. It ends March 25th, 2018.
