TAFE Queensland to offer iOS app development with Swift program

TAFE Queensland will soon offer an iOS app development program using Swift, Apple has announced. Teaching students the fundamentals of app development. And is scheduled to become available in October 2021.

It will be the only program in Queensland that has been co-curated with Apple engineers and educators.

Swift is a programming language developed by Apple to help create and design Apps. For the range of Apple’s software platforms. Including the App Store on iOS (iPhone and iPad). Responsible for the creation of over 160,000 app economy jobs around Australia. A figure that “has been increasing by 10 per cent every year since 2017”, explains Apple.

The program will therefore, develop the skills student will require to help start their success in the app development economy.

“The training provider [TAFE Queensland] will be the first in the state to offer an iOS coding course based on Apple’s Develop in Swift curriculum.”
