Apple unveils all-new iMac with 24-inch display, M1 chip, and more

Available in seven vibrant colours

Apple has officially revealed an all-new iMac with a striking new design in a range of vibrant colours, powered by the M1 Chip. In what is one of the biggest changes to iMac in many years.

The design of the new iMac is significantly thinner and more compact than any other previous generations we’ve seen before. It is just 11.5mm thin and has 50% less volume than previously. Yet Apple has made the display larger – to 24-inches and include a 1080p HD camera, studio-quality mics, and more.

Perhaps most striking are the colours. For the first time in a long time, iMac is available in seven (!) colours. Colours include green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. The keyboard, mouse, and even magnetic woven power cable are colour matched to the colour you choose.

Powering the iMac including all the apps and games is the M1 chip – the first Apple-designed and engineered chip for Mac. This same chip is responsible for giving the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini significant performance and graphic gains. And significantly better battery life for MacBooks. And it is no different for the new iMac.

The M1 chip in the new iMac features an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. Plus a huge 16-core Apple Neural Engine. These numbers give the iMac up to 85% faster CPU performance and 2x faster graphics. Machine Learning (ML) performance is boosted by 3x over the previous generation model. These numbers allow tasks to run much faster, apps to load nearly instantly, and an overall better experience.
