As expected, Apple announced three new iPhone models during an event at the Steve Jobs theatre. The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Bringing new features, improved battery life. And all-new camera systems with dual-lens on the iPhone 11, three-lens on the iPhone 11 Pro.
All models will be available for pre-order from 10 pm AEST on September 10th, 2019. With availability starting online and in-stores from Friday, September 20th, 2019. Starting at a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of A$1,199 inc. GST.
New Camera Systems
The big focus of this years iPhone releases is all about the cameras. Apple has added a new dual-lens system to the iPhone 11. Enabling photos and 4K video to be captured through an Ultra Wide and Wide Lens. Offering new and enhanced features, some of which are:
- 4K video with extended dynamic range for cinematic stabilisation
- Ability to easily zoom and change between the lens
- Capture our times more scene with the Ultra-Wide lens
- Night mode for significantly better low-light photos
- Portrait mode for people, pets, objects, and more
Photography goes to the next level on the iPhone 11 Pro. With an additional third lens – Wide, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto. Giving what Apple is calling a “Pro-level camera system”.
Better Battery Life
We all want longer battery life. All three new iPhones deliver longer battery life over the previous-generation models announced just last year. The iPhone 11 Pro lasts four more hours in a day over the iPhone XS. The iPhone 11 Pro Max will go a future 5 hours over the iPhone XS Max. And the iPhone 11 has about 1 hour longer than the iPhone XR.
A13 Bionic
Longer battery life is all thanks to a new A13 Bionic chip. It is what processes everything you do on the iPhone. From apps, playing games, capturing photos, Machine Learning, and more. Over the A12, the A13 chip is 20% faster in CPU and GPU performance. And it can deliver more than 1 trillion operations per second – making it the best machine learning platform in the world.
iOS 13
Many new features will arrive with iOS 13. A free software update that was announced during WWDC. And will not only arrive at new iPhones but previous-generations too.
iOS 13 brings Dark Mode, major updates to apps, big privacy improvements, and much more. Photos and videos get a significant range of new editing tools and features.
Other Features
There are many more improvements and additions to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. Some of which include:
