Apple has given two of their most popular Macs, the MacBook Air and entry MacBook Pro, an update. Both have received True Tone to their displays, while the MacBook Pro gains a Touch Bar and Touch ID, quad-core processor, and Apple T2 Security Chip. But perhaps the biggest change is to the price of the MacBook. Which now starts at an RRP of A$1,649 – a price drop of A$150.

Both the MacBook Air and 13-inch entry MacBook Pro feature a Retina Display, sleek aluminium design, all-day battery life, macOS, and more. And from today they now have a True Tone Retina Display. Meaning the colour temperature of the display will automatically adjust depending on the environment around you.

For example, if the lighting around you is on the warmer orange spectrum of colour, then the display will adjust to match. Providing a better viewing experience.

While the MacBook Pro is better suited for tasks that demand powerful processors, SSD storage, and more. Such as 4K video editing, music production, design and architecture, and more.

Today’s updates include significant additions to the entry-level MacBook Pro which for the first time now includes:

  • An 8th-generation quad-core processor offering 2x more performance
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID
  • Apple T2 Security Chip

As a result, the 13-inch MacBook Pro is now twice as fast before
