All Apple Store locations around Australia are currently hosting Hour of Code. Free coding sessions for all ages from December 1st – 14th, 2018. Apple has also unveiled a range of new resources to help you bring coding education to more students.

Free Hour of Code
From now until December 14th, 2018 anybody can register to attend a free Hour of Code session. Including aspiring coders aged six to 12 with Kids Hour sessions. It is the sixth year Apple is hosting the sessions in their stores as part of the Today at Apple program.
The aim of these sessions is to provide education and the opportunity to learn to code. No matter if you are a skilled coder or completely new – everyone is welcome.
Kids Hour sessions are aimed at those who are six to 12 years old. But those who are aged 12 and above can attend sessions that use Swift Playgrounds and an iPad. An app which Apple has developed for the iPad which allows anyone to learn to code.

Apple has also created a new Hour of Code Facilitator Guide to celebrate Computer Science Education Week. It has been created to help educators host their own sessions using the Swift Playgrounds and other iPad apps. The PDF guide can be downloaded free from Apple’s website.
