Yesterday the MacBook Air received the biggest update since the original MacBook Air. With Apple unveiling an all-new MacBook Air with a Retina display, Touch ID, latest-generation keyboard, and more. While still remaining as the most affordable Mac.
The all-new MacBook Air range is available for order now from Apple online with availability starting Wednesday, 7 November.
Like the new iPad Pro, the MacBook Air has been completely redesigned inside and out. However still features the recognisable signature taper design we’ve all come to love.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing went on to say:
“Redesigning MacBook Air started with a stunning Retina display and all-day battery life, and then we added Touch ID and the Apple T2 Security Chip, the latest processors, incredible sound, the third-generation keyboard and Force Touch trackpad, high-speed Thunderbolt 3 ports and of course macOS Mojave, in a beautiful, thinner, lighter, all-aluminium design that a whole new generation of MacBook Air customers are going to love.”
Now thinner and lighter
Spacious Force Touch trackpad
Touch ID for secure authentication
Three new colour finishes
Faster SSD storage
All-day battery life (Up to 12-hours)
and much more.
The biggest addition is the new 13.3-inch Retina Display. It brings over 4 million pixels of resolution and 48 per cent more colour for sharp, detailed text and images. It is the first time the Retina Display has arrived at the MacBook Air.
Apple has packed in all these new features, along with the Retina Display in an updated design. One which offers the same signature wedge-shaped design, but is now more compact and portable.
In fact, it has 17% less volume and is 10% thinner as just 1.56 cm at its thickest point. In terms of weight, Apple has managed to drop 100 grams than the previous generation, bringing it to just 1.25 kilograms.
100% Recycled Aluminium
For the first time, the Apple-designed aluminium alloy which makes the enclosure of the notebook is made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium. Making it the greenest Mac ever.
