In an unannounced addition to the Apple Music service, starting today iOS users can ask Siri to play triple j or any ABC radio station on HomePod, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. This is a welcome change as Apple plays catchup with the other smart speakers like Google Home and Alexa, who play radio stations through TuneIn radio. It looks like the local radio stations in Apple Music has only launched in Australia and can be found in the Radio section of the Apple Music App.
The new feature arrives only a short time after Apple announced Siri can play news from Seven, ABC, and SBS.
Radio Stations
The radio stations come from the ABC network and they include:
- triple j
- Double J
- Triple J Unearthed
- ABC Classic 1 and 2
- ABC Country
- ABC Jazz
- ABC Radio National
- ABC News Radio
- ABC Grandstand
- ABC from all Major Australian Cities
