After supporting Apple Pay for some time, ING has introduced a new feature which allows customers to ask Siri what’s their bank balance.
The feature, which was introduced last month, allows customers to simply say “Hey Siri, what’s my bank balance?”. Siri, Apple’s voice assistant will then display the balance on iPhone. You can also be more specific, for example, saying, “Hey Siri, how much do I have in my holiday savings account?”.
Future
This development is particularly interesting because we are seeing voice assistants perform a lot more tasks. According to ING, 69% of their customers have said they would very likely use voice assistant technology to perform tasks. In the future this can be things like transferring funds, paying bills, and asking when they’re due.
“In the future we want our customers to be able to use Siri for banking transactions such as transferring funds between accounts or making bill payments.”
