After announcing its pricing and release information earlier in the week, HomePod, Apple’s smart speaker is now open to pre-orders in Australia at A$499. However, HomePod won’t ship until February 9th, 2018.
Orders for HomePod are now being taken from Apple’s online store, and at limited retail stores around Australia. There are two colours you can order HomePod in, white or space grey, with the colour differences applying to the mesh fabric that wraps around the speaker.
Apple is offering free delivery or store pick-up, plus 14-day returns on every order from their online store. The 14-day free returns period is a good way to try HomePod out. Should it not meet your expectations, you can return it for free.

HomePod is Apple’s first wireless speaker for the home which is designed to give you stunning audio quality, no matter where it’s placed.
Integrated into HomePod is Siri, Apple’s voice assistant. This means you can use your voice to play music from Apple Music, or many other things. Including sending messages, playing a podcast, reading news, sports, traffic, and weather. It is also possible to wirelessly control HomeKit enabled accessories with HomePod. This includes wireless lights, door locks, and more, around your home.
