iOS 11, a major software update for iPhone, iPad, and the iPod Touch is now available around the world including Australia.
The update includes a number of new features and additions from a redesigned App Store, augmented reality apps, a new dock for iPad, an easier experience with iMessage apps, a new files app, and lots more.
iOS 11 and iPad
Perhaps the biggest additions iOS 11 will give is to the iPad. Apple goes on to say the iPad is now “even more powerful” with iOS 11. So much so they have released a number videos highlighting the number of new features the update brings to the iPad range including the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro released in July.
New App StoreiOS 11 on iPad brings an all new-dock which can easily be accessed by swiping up from the bottom, drag and drop for moving text, photos, and files from one app to another, a new files app, Apple Pencil enhancements, and lots more.
Download and Update
iOS 11 can be updated free on all compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch models by simply going to:
- Tap settings
- Tap General
- then select “Software Update”
The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus which is available from September 22nd will be delivered with iOS 11 already installed.
