Apple Reveals Most Affordable 9.7-inch iPad, Starting at A$469

Apple has announced a brand new 9.7-inch iPad with a new display, great performance, all-day battery life, and more. The new iPad is priced in Australia from A$469, making it the lowest price for a 9.7-inch iPad ever.

Named simply iPad, it features a bright Retina Display, front and back-facing cameras, HD video recording, Touch ID including Apple Pay, and more. All while weighing in at less than 500 grammes for portability and all-day battery life.

“New customers and anyone looking to upgrade will love this new iPad for use at home, in school, and for work, with its gorgeous Retina display, our powerful A9 chip, and access to the more than 1.3 million apps designed specifically for it.” – Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

iPad also comes with iOS 10 installed, the latest version of iOS. This includes new multitasking features such as split-view where you can now run two apps side-by-side at the same time. iPad is also capable of boosting productivity with Microsoft Office (including Word) now available for iPad.

Australian Pricing

The new iPad is available in a number of configurations including three colours, storage sizes, and Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + Cellular connectivity. It starts at A$469 for 32GB storage with Wi-Fi and A$669 for cellular 3G/4G LTE connectivity.

You can also save A$30 with Apple’s educational pricing offer, available to students, teachers, and staff members. You must purchase from Apple’s Educational Pricing Store.

iPad can be ordered from Apple online Australia from Friday, 24th March.
