Apple Australia Shows Portrait Mode On iPhone 7 Plus In New Videos

Apple has recently uploaded a number of videos highlighting the new Portrait Mode on the iPhone 7 Plus to their official Australian YouTube channel. This comes some weeks after first showing them in the US.

The two videos show how photos captured in the new portrait mode soften the background, bringing the subject in focus. This is commonly referred to as a depth effect, a feature once reserved only for high-end DSLR cameras. This is made possible with the new 12-megapixel dual-camera on the new iPhone 7 Plus.

When you shoot in Portrait mode on iPhone 7 Plus, your subject stands out from the background.

In the video Soul Mate, a photo is taken of a dog with trees in the background. However, when shot in Portrait Mode the background is blurred making the dog pop-out more. This also works on people as shown in the video Profile Picture.

The new iPhone 7 Plus starts at A$1,269 with 32GB storage and is available from Apple online.
