It’s not often you see a partnership between Apple and someone else when it comes to their own products but they’ve done just that with the Apple Watch. Both Apple and Hermès announced the Apple Watch Hermès collection which brings the same stainless steel Apple Watch designed by Apple and custom hand made luxurious finely crafted leather bands from Hermès.
“At Hermès, we strive to provide our clients with elegant, creative and functional objects for their everyday lives,” said Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Hermès’ executive vice president in charge of artistic direction.
The collection brings three different styles of leather bands with multiple colours and sizes all which are paired with the Apple Watch. This Apple Watch is crafted from a refined 316L stainless steel that’s been cold forged, making it up to 80 per cent harder while the display is made from sapphire, the second hardest material in the world.
There’s something else unique to the Hermès collection – The Watch face. The designers at Apple have created a watch face which matches what Hermes is all about, down to the iconography and watch hands.
Double Tour
The finely crafted leather band is designed extra long to elegantly wrap around your wrist twice. The Double Tour is available with the 38-mm Apple Watch in four colours: Fauve, Étain, Capucine and Bleu Jean.
Single Tour
The classic Hermès design. The buckle recalls those on the straps of a horse’s girth, a nod to the equestrian heritage of Hermès. Available in 38-mm and 42-mm stainless steel cases with Hermès leather bands in Fauve and Noir. The 38-mm case is also available with a Capucine leather band.
Cuff
Inspired by equestrian fixtures, the finely worked modern cuff in signature Hermès leather is adapted to allow the heart rate sensor to stay in contact with the wrist. Available in a 42-mm stainless steel case with an Hermès leather band in Fauve.
