For years it seemed many countries around the world were enjoying video streaming services while Australia had little to no choice. This year that is about to change with the arrival of Netflix next month in March but one streaming service is available now – Stan.
Stan allows you to stream (like watching YouTube) an unlimited amount of TV Shows and Movies with “thousands” of hours of entertainment, kids content all in full 1080p HD when possible. Stan promises much more content to be added in the future.
“Breaking Bad, The Good Wife, Sherlock, Justified, Ray Donovan, Call The Midwife and groundbreaking comedies like Nurse Jackie, The Big C, Californication, Communityand Summer Heights High.
Recent blockbusters like The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Robocop or Channing Tatum in 21 Jump St, to classic franchises including The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, The Matrix Trilogy, The Twilight Saga and the Rockyfilms.”
At the moment i’m enjoying their 30 day trial and I have to say so far I’m enjoying the content that’s available. This Monday they will be premiering the new Breaking Bad spin-off show Better Call Saul (they even have Breaking Bad for those of you who have never watched the series before).
So how much? – It’s priced at just $10 a month with no lock in contact, all you have to do is create a account add a billing card and you’re off!
So where can you watch? When it comes to Apple products just about everything. Start watching from your Mac by simply going to www.stan.com.au in your browser, while iPhone and iPad viewing is possible by downloading their app from the App Store.
But one of my favourite things about Stan is the possibility to watch on my Apple TV, while you won’t find a Stan app directly on your Apple TV you’ll be able to AirPlay the video from your iPad or iPhone to your TV – a feature many other streaming services block.
