    1. Honestly very good question from what i have read Lion creates a small partition on your Hard Drive so if something was to happen you can re-install Lion.

Making it App Store only sure has some questions like that once i find out more i will update my post :)

    1. Apple have not yet informed anyone of that process yet. Later to release date (somewhere in July) i should have more information :)

  1. Does the free upgrade apply to Australia? I walked in to the Apple Store in Sydney today and the staff said OS Lion will be out at end July. They have not been instructed on a definite date of release and they have no instructions as to whether there will be a free upgrade to new Mac system purchasers.

    1. On the Apple Australian website they have a website that says “The Mac OS X Lion Up-To-Date upgrade is available at no additional charge via the Mac App Store to all customers who purchased a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorised Reseller on or after 7 June 2011. Users must request their Up-To-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchase of their Mac computer. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between 7 June 2011 and the date when Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from Lion’s official release date to make a request.”

It will be available to Australia its true they have not said a specific date in July so staff at Apple will not be instructed to say much

      1. Thanks for the info. I can understand not commenting on release date but surely they should be able to confirm free upgrade given there is a press release that says there will be one!
