Next iPhone to feature 3.2 & 5MP cameras?

WWDC is only a few months away and already indications of a new iPhone are filtering through. WWDC is where Apple announced the iPhone 3G for over 70 countries, the next iPhone is likely to be released at this years WWDC conference.

The latest is Apple has orderd 3.2 and 5MP camera sensors for the iPhone and/or future products.

DigiTimes claims that Apple has placed orders with OmniVision Technologies for both 3.2 and 5-megapixel image sensors. The 3.2-megapixel sensor is reportedly destined for the next-generation iPhone, while the 5-megapixel sensor is claimed to be for a separate product launching later this year.

Apple released the next iPhone OS just a few weeks ago, firmware 3.0 this saw hidden “publish video” features. Apple has taken on a number of dislikes about the iPhone and incorporated them into firmware 3.0 including copy and paste, MMS, tethering and more. The 2MP poor quality camera in the iPhone is another dislike among consumers however a hardware update is needed.
