Apple have announced their Personal Pickup service is now available around Australia giving you a new and convenient way to shop from the Apple Online Store – just in time for the Christmas shopping period.
Personal Pickup allows you to place an order on the Apple Online Store, including Apple products and accessories, then arrange to pick up your order from an Apple Retail Store of your choice, rather than getting it delivered – similar to the ‘click and collect’ services we commonly see in Australia. Not only is the process simple, but it means when you arrive at the Apple Retail Store your order is guaranteed to be there and ready to go.
Official Apple Retail Stores can be found around Australia in NSW/ACT, VIC, QLD, SA and WA, with stores in most major cities and surrounds. If you cannot find a suitable location Apple will deliver your item to your home or office free with most products delivering next-day if you order by 2pm.
During the process your items will be avaliable within an hour during most regular business hours, with a notification send via text message, email or the Apple Store App for iPhone/iPad. Apple will even set up your new Apple product before you leave the store if you like.
Of course, you will need to bring a valid form of photo ID, but it’s possible you can arrange for someone else to pickup your order – a perfect way to surprise someone with a gift.
How to use Personal Pickup
- Shop on the Apple Online Store
- Select ‘Check avaliability’ and search with your postcode.
- Simply select an Apple Retail Store of your choice.
- Continue with the order process by clicking Add to Bag.
- Pick-up your order from your chosen Apple Retail Store with valid photo-ID.
This is the first time Apple have expanded this service after being avaliable in the US since 2011.
