Apple announces recycling program, gives environment update

Apple has announced you can now recycle all your old Apple products at any Apple Retail Store in Australia.

Plus see how Apple is innovating with the environment in mind with their ‘Environment Responsibility’ update.

Free Recycling

You can now take your old Apple products including Macs, iPhones, iPods and iPads to any Apple Retail Store around Australia and they’ll recycle it free of charge.

Apple will then use the materials in these products to recycle them down into future products.

Environment Update from Apple

Every year Apple provides their update on what they’ve done to minimise what Apple’s business & products have on the Environment.

Some key updates for 2013 – 2014 are:

  • Data centres using 100% renewable energy.
  • Free recycling of old Apple products.
  • Removed all harmful toxins in Products.
  • Today’s iMac uses 0.9 watts of electricity in sleep mode.  – That’s 97 per cent less than the first iMac.
